Now that you’ve purchased your first Delta 8 product, it’s time to learn how to store your product to extend shelf life, potency, and overall quality.

Because Delta 8 is an organic and natural compound, it can expire.

These organic compounds often go bad when exposed to air, heat, humidity, and a variety of other factors that many consumers aren’t aware of.

In this guide, we’re going to help you navigate how to store Delta-8 edibles like gummies.

Although the cannabinoid is rather new to the industry, it’s been on the market for many years and is finally getting the attention it deserves.

If Delta 8 products are stored properly, they can last up to 18 months, although they might not be as potent as when they were first purchased.

A good rule of thumb regarding shelf life hovers around 9 to 12 months.

  • Like any other hemp-derived product, you want to ensure the package is sealed to store and preserve the cannabinoids for longer shelf life. Each time you open the bag, close it tightly as soon as you’re done.
  • Place your product inside an airtight bag or container if the original packaging does not supply a resealable lid or ziplock. Glass tends to act as a stronger barrier than plastics, so Mason jars are perfect for storing your Delta 8 goods.
  • Whether you’re storing your Delta 8 in glass jars, containers, or the original packaging, the best way to get the most of your product is by keeping it inside a refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • You also want to avoid keeping your Delta 8 products out of bright light like sunlight. Heating your product is never a good idea, and they’re best stored in a dark, cool place.
  • Keep Delta 8 gummies away from humidity, which can be done using an ultra-airtight container or Mason jar, as noted above.
